Questions, answered.

Scholarly is a scholarship app for high school and college students in the United States. It matches you with scholarships you actually qualify for, then fills out and submits the applications for you once you review and authorize each one. It works as an iPhone app and as a web app in any browser.

How does Scholarly find scholarships for me?

You complete a guided onboarding once. We match your profile against thousands of active scholarships and surface only the ones you actually qualify for, ranked by amount and deadline.

What happens when I swipe right?

A right swipe queues a real application. Our system submits the application to the provider on your behalf using the information and essays you've already saved. You get a status update the moment it's processed.

How much does Scholarly cost?

Onboarding is free. To start swiping and auto-applying you need an active subscription. On iPhone it is billed through the App Store; on the web app it is billed by card. A yearly plan costs less per month than paying monthly. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the billing period.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, protected by row-level security, and only shared with scholarship providers you actively swipe right on. We never sell your data.

Are scholarships guaranteed?

No. Scholarly maximizes how many qualified applications you can realistically submit, but the final award decision is always made by the scholarship provider.

Who is Scholarly for?

High school and college students in the United States. Whether you're a senior heading to college or already enrolled in undergrad or grad school, we've got matches for you.

Does Scholarly work on Android or on a computer?

Yes. Scholarly is an iPhone app on the App Store, and the same account works in the Scholarly web app in any browser, including on Android phones, Chromebooks, and laptops. Your profile, matches, and applications stay in sync.

Which scholarships does Scholarly apply to?

Private and corporate awards like Coca-Cola Scholars, The Gates Scholarship, Dell Scholars, Jack Kent Cooke, Amazon Future Engineer, and McDonald's HACER, plus thousands of smaller merit, need-based, and identity or community scholarships. When a provider needs something only you can supply, such as a transcript or a recommendation letter, the app tells you exactly what is missing instead of submitting an incomplete application.

Do I have to write a new essay for every scholarship?

No. You write one reusable personal statement during onboarding and can save additional essays. Scholarly reuses them across applications, and you can edit any answer before you authorize a submission.

How is Scholarly different from a scholarship search website?

Search sites hand you a long list and leave the applying to you. Scholarly only shows scholarships you are eligible for, ranks them by amount and deadline, and then completes and submits the application after you approve it. The work you do once in your profile carries across every scholarship. See our comparison of scholarship apps and websites.

Is Scholarly legit?

Scholarly is made by NeedThat Studio, LLC in the United States. You review every application before it is sent, the scholarship provider always makes the award decision, and we never sell your data or promise a specific outcome. Our full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are public.

When should I start applying for scholarships?

The biggest national scholarships for high school seniors open in late summer and close between September and February, so the fall of senior year is the most important window. Many awards for current college students run year-round, which is why Scholarly keeps matching you after you enroll. See our guide to the biggest scholarships for U.S. students for amounts and typical deadlines.
